the big day: erin + joel

erin + joel's wedding was at the fabulous stonefield cellars.  this was their very first wedding there but you never would have guessed it.  everything went off without a hitch!  they have a really cute old farmhouse on the property where everyone got ready.

the flowers were very cool. the rosemary in joel's boutonniere smelled so good!  (contact dennycrowe@hotmail.com for more info)

one more of the flowers, just because i liked them so much

erin + joel's wedding had a lot of personal touches.  she made these cute lanterns herself, as well as the bridesmaid's jewelry.

we set up a polaroid photobooth/guestbook at the entrance to the ceremony- it was a big hit!   joel is a teacher, so we went with the school theme.

photobooth in action.  joel's brother kept it rollin' for us!

the custom polaroid guestbook.  the photos just slide right in!

ok, now on to the wedding!  the guys were stylin' in their socks.

erin, beautiful as always!

heading down the path with dad.  just as they approached the ceremony, it started to thunder- very dramatic!

the happy couple right afterwards.  as soon as we clicked the shutter the sky just dumped on us.   it was pouring!  sara and I sprinted towards the tent and sara kept yelling, "the bride needs an umbrella"!  i thought she might tackle someone!

the rain cleared after about 45 minutes and cooled everything off.  it made everything look misty, which was really nice.

the cutest ringbearer ever.

erinjoel_403.jpg

and the sweetest flower girls.  erin + joel had fun games at the reception for all the kids (and grown-ups) to play with.

my favorite shot of the day.  i couldn't decide which one I liked better- the B+w or the color.  leave your vote in the comments box below, and erin and joel will get a free print of the winner!

all of the ladies participated in the bouquet toss and whoever caught it got a bottle of wine.  i thought that was a really nice idea.

Just looked at your last wedding post and at the risk of sounding redundant, I have to say again that you guys are SO good! I think the words ‘fresh’ and ‘modern’ are overused, but they describe your work perfectly. There’s something clean and classic about your look…like Coca-Cola and apple pie mixed with vogue magazine. I LOVE IT! It’s really distinctive, which is especially interesting because there are two of you shooting! I bet I could easily pick out one of your photographs from a bunch of other photographers.

Anyway, I just had to gush again because you guys totally rock!

these have been so worth the wait. brian and i both vote for the color... we like a little more definition in an already soft picture. i absolutely love the bouquet-throwing shot - what an Erin-face. :D really looking forward to seeing the rest of these. my husband and i are going to start saving our pennies and hire you someday!

This is definitely one of my favorite series!! I just love all of the fun colorful details and the shot of the bouquet on the desk is my absolute favorite.

of course...another fabulous job, ladies!
erin looks so beautiful and all of the small touches are great.
i vote for the photo in colour...for the details:)

Beautiful! I agree with maile about the apple pie and Vogue comment! Your photos evoke such a classic, fun, nostalgic feeling! Amazing. Oh, b&w for me. I'm usually a color fan, but for that particular one, b&w.

Wow! What a beautiful wedding at a beautiful location. I absolutely love the photo booth. Your images are fabulous!
That's a tough one...I love the color and the B+W..for different reasons. I guess I am of no help.
