personal: good times, bad times at the lakehouse
i bet i had you fooled! with all of the blogging going on this week you had no idea that i was at the lake!
my husband is a teacher. it is really unfair that he gets the entire summer off while i plug through the busy season. he and eliza have been doing all kinds of fun stuff while i work, work, work, and work some more! to make the summer work load a little more bearable we decided to come to the lake house this week. i brought my desktop computer and i set it up at the kitchen table, so i can look out at the lake as i edit and blog. when the sun goes down i take the laptop outside and sit on the boat to finish things up. i think brad is ready for me to take tomorrow off. it is difficult to explain to a 4 year old that mommy is working when all she wants to do is show me how good she is doing swimming with her floaties.
don't get me wrong, i am not complaining. i am happy that our business is doing so well! i am thankful for all of our amazing (and patient) clients! i am just trying to work through it all. i want to be the best at everything that i do. i am trying to find balance in my life. i love my work so much sometimes it is hard to stop, to turn off, and to live in the moment.
this weekend mel and her husband are going to spend a long weekend with tim's family to celebrate the 4th of july. i am packing up the computer and awaiting the arrival of our family at the lake house, so there will be a slight lull in our blogging madness. you need to get off the computer too and go and enjoy the sunshine!
oh, since a blog post without a photo is no fun....here is a shot of my black toenail polish (i am goth from my ankles down, hee hee), my laptop, and a cervesa at sunset. the second photo is my poor little liza jane. she had a little accident, but she is ok now. the blood was the scariest part! it looks worse than it is and my little darling has a dramatic flair, so she put on this poor pitiful face just for the camera.

i wish you and your family a fun 4th!

Boy do I get this post! I think any mother in this passionate industry can relate to your constant juggle. I found a quote that was able to put things into words when I am going through my struggle of what I love to do with all the other loves in my life.....is too long to write here, (e-mail me and I will share it with you:)
a) totally feel your "balance" struggle
b) looked at the pictures before reading and didn't even notice Eliza's blood! i was too distracted by her cute expression I guess! is her middle name really jane? becuase that's just cute overload.
