personal: sara loves brad

brad and i got married on cinco de mayo, seven years ago!  so i thought it was appropriate to post a picture of us from our trip to mexico last year.

brad and i met in high school, but we were not high school sweethearts (although i had a crush on him the entire span of high school!).  we came back into each others lives at the end of college and have been together ever since.  right after i graduated college we did a 3 month cross country trip.  we camped, we visited every national park and weird side road attraction in our path, we visited friends and family, we survied our car catching on fire, getting our bikes stolen, grizzly bears (or my fear of them), hiking to the peaks of the mountains, getting stuck in the great salt lake, and only being separated for bathroom breaks for 3 months....we decided that we still really loved each other after all of that, so we could make it through anything together.  today, brad is still my best friend.  i am a homebody, so he drags me out to fun things and i love him for this.  he is the most wonderful poppy (liza calls him poppy instead of daddy) that i could ever wish for my little girl.  he is my other half.

personal: liza's new do

mel and i have one more shoot in wilmington this morning and then we head to raleigh for our last session of the weekend.  although i love shooting in far off and new locations, i have to admit that i have been away from home so much in the past couple of weeks i am really missing my little sweetie pie, miss liza!  here is a quick snapshot that i grabbed of her the other morning before i took her to school.  her bangs are finally long enough to pull back in to pig tails, yea!  i loved her old short china doll haircut, but she wants to grow her hair as long as ariel.  : ) by the way, if you do not know who ariel is, she is the is the "most beautifulist mermaid princess ever!".

go green

i am always looking for ways to "go green".  there are so many simple little things that we can do to make our world a better place.  tomorrow night at 8:00 pm i plan to participate in "earth hour".

check it out:

earth hour

On March 29, 2008 at 8 p.m., join millions of people around the world in making a statement about climate change by turning off your lights for Earth Hour, an event created by the  World Wildlife Fund.

Earth Hour was created by WWF in Sydney, Australia in 2007, and in one year has grown from an event in one city to a global movement. In 2008, millions of people, businesses, governments and civic organizations in nearly 200 cities around the globe will turn out for Earth Hour. More than 100 cities across North America will participate, including the US flagships–Atlanta, Chicago, Phoenix and San Francisco and  Ottawa, Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver.

We invite everyone throughout North America and around the world to turn off the lights for an hour starting at 8 p.m. (your own local time)–whether at home or at work, with friends and family or solo, in a big city or a small town.

What will you do when the lights are off? We have lots of ideas.

Join people all around the world in showing that you care about our planet and want to play a part in helping to fight climate change. Don’t forget to sign up and let us know you want to join Earth Hour.

One hour, America. Earth Hour. Turn out for Earth Hour!

we are planning on having friends over for a cook out, so we will finish up with our dinner and head outside to sit around our fire pit to chat by firelight from 8-9.  we will turn off all sources of power in our house, enjoy our friends, listen to the sounds of night, and look at the stars.  what are you going to do?

the party is over

liza had a big time over her spring break.  the weather was gorgeous!  we got to visit with lots of friends and family.  we ate a lot of yummy food and candy (which liza never gets).  after going from one gathering to another and playing with so many friends and cousins our poor little bean was tuckered out.  she has never fallen asleep on the couch before!  we usually have to beg her to go to sleep.  sunday afternoon she sat down for about 30 seconds and passed out!
