Entries in raleigh wedding (11)
the big day: christine + brian • raleigh, nc
yes, our brides like hot shoes :)

love the flowers, you can't go wrong with peonies ...

or bowties

christine, looking amazing. she is also one of our most supportive and encouraging brides ever, and she seems to send us the nicest emails at just the right time. thanks christine!

all of the colors in their wedding look so pretty together

first dance

there were tons of kids at this wedding, so of course we had fun being silly with all of them

this poor little guy fell and busted his eye right before the wedding. ouch!
on the night that christine and brian met she toilet papered his house. it is only fitting that they were tp'ed during their last dance :)

lili and corey's raleigh reception
ok, this is the last post for lili and corey! you remember them from a few posts back, gorgeous bride, good lookin groom, moon palace, mexico, trash the dress.....well, here are a few shots from their reception in raleigh at the nc state club. we showed a slide show of the wedding images from mexico on the state club's giant drop down screen. it was the first time that lili and corey had seen their wedding photos. : )

lili and corey are amazing dancers. we were so impressed...they did a salsa dance for their first dance!
you can see joe bunn, the d.j. in the back ground. he is awesome!

i know this one is kinda big, but i love the textures that i used for it. i used some of jesh's and also so that i made myself.

good morning
i try to sneak in a couple of hours of work in the morning before eliza gets up. it is a peaceful, quiet time with just me and the dogs in my office with my morning cup of joe. in all honesty i start my morning thinking, "how in the world am i going to get everything done that i need to do today!". i start most mornings by making lists and checking emails. i love lists....actually, it is a love/hate relationship. i hate to see them so long and daunting, but i love to cross things off my list! sometimes i cheat and put things on my list that i just did, so i can see the tasks with a big ole slash through them! : )
this morning at 6:47 am i got a nice little surprise. we got the email below from one of our brides:
"HI Girls!! It is 11:30 Tuesday night and I was thinking of the two of you. We are all busy with our jobs and our families and have so little time for ourselves. I was thinking of the many things that keep me awake at night over this wedding and I realized that I don't have any worries at all about the 2 of you!!! I realized that you two are the two best decisions I made for this wedding and I decided that I needed to take 5 minutes and write you to THANK YOU FOR BEING AWESOME!!!! YOU TWO ROCK!! The one thing I am sure of for our wedding is that I know our pics will be awesome and I know we will have a blast with you. We are 3 months almost to the day of the BIG DATE and I have so many things running through my mind to finish up. I am so excited and I wanted to let you know that WE appreciate your hard work and talent and that you give up your weekends with your families to let us have a beautiful piece of art as a keepsake of our special day! I can't thank you two enough!! GOD BLESS and PEACE!!!!! -Love Christine and Brian!!!"
wow! i cannot tell you how much this little note makes my day! mel and i pour our heart and soul into our photography. it feels so good when you work with a bride and groom who trust you to do your job and who appreciate your work. i feel very lucky, because most of our clients are just as amazing as christine and brian! we have met so many wonderful people through our photography. by the end of the wedding we are hugging the bride and groom and their families and saying goodbye like old friends. the other cool part is that a lot of our business comes from word of mouth so we get to see our past clients at our new client's weddings! we also get to keep up with our past brides and grooms when they call us with exciting new developments in their families....babies!
i just wanted to say thanks to christine for taking the time to send us a happy little ray of sunshine! we are looking forward to seeing you guys in 3 months!
thanks,
sara

the big day: kathryn + brandon
kathryn and brandon were our first wedding of 2008!
they gave each other the sweetest and most heartfelt gifts just before the ceremony. here is kathryn reading the letter attached to her gift, which was a journal that brandon had been keeping since they first started dating.
brandon says he does not have a good "serious" face. i will admit that he is not a very serious person, his is always smiling, but i think he looks great in this shot!

kathryn and all of her siblings are not so serious either.

gotta love some red hot shoes and argyle socks.

kathryn and brandon had their reception at the north carolina museum of natural history. we took a few photos on the mall by the museum before we headed in.

i love the full length shot of kathryn and brandon. i think they look like vintage wedding cake toppers.

a little video light magic.

can you feel it? this is what pure joy looks like.

lastly, we just got the jesh de rox textures. this is my first attempt with textures. what do you think?
