these gorgeous little girls toughed the cold winds for our photo shoot! we started out with a few family shots for the almstead's christmas card.

then the girls changed into their "farm girl" digs.

when you can't get the dog to cooperate for the photoshoot, just tackle him! 

it seems like we have been shooting a lot of little girls lately.  it was fun to switch it up a bit and photograph isaac.  he is all boy.  he  showed up at the shoot with his tractor in tow!

this is the only shot that we got where issac was not cracking up or making silly faces.  i am not sure what it is about this photo, but i just love it. 

usually, the whitebox way is vibrant colors or popping black and whites with a touch of warmth, but i am kinda diggin' this retro processing.  what do you think?  go ahead...you can be honest.

 and this is little miss ella james.  we started photographing her before she was born!

she is a very expressive kid!  i love this face. 

the drought and the crazy warm temperatures have been bad for our mother earth, but great for photography!  we met meredith and ben at hanging rock state park just before all of the leaves fell!

we had a great time hanging out with our friends kevin + abby at the american tobacco campus in durham.  sara and I went to school with kevin and he is an amazing wedding photographer- you can check out his website here.
